Everyone knows that New York is arguably one of the best cities in the world for all things great, especially sport, but it’s during the American winter where it really shines it’s brightest. Notably, Madison Square Garden hosts all of the best winter events and you better believe that includes sport.

This year, New York hosts St. Johns vs Penn State and Rutgers vs Fordham in the annual MSG Holiday Festival, the longest running college basketball event which is sure to deliver especially as both matches showcase local rivals. Despite a down season for all participating teams, it gives the opportunity to fans and sporting goers alike to witness Big Ten teams on the big stage.

Although a showcase event, New York have an abundance of sporting teams who play in big events throughout the winter. The NY Giants will be taking on the rampaging Cowboys in the NFL whilst the Knicks will be looking to string a few wins together before Christmas in the NBA.

To cap it off, sporting enthusiasts out there can also treat themselves to New York Islander and New York Jets games if the above doesn’t quite whet the appetite enough. Regardless of your intentions, make sure you check out SWiAM for all your ticketing and match day entertainment needs.
